Brendan Kelly resides in Annapolis, Maryland and is also the team’s president. After purchasing the team in February of 2010, he changed the team name to the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The change made to the name has helped to encompass the entire Chesapeake region of Maryland, northern Virginia, Delaware and the Eastern Shore. After attending Mount St. Joe High School, Brendan went on to Salisbury University where he was part of the 1995 National Championship team. After college, he played five years in the USCLA for Team Smartlink. He then coached in the league, leading Team Smartlink to four championships. Kelly also coached the Smartlink team to eight Ocean City Lacrosse Tournament championships. Kelly took over as Bayhawks head coach midseason in 2010 and led the Bayhawks to their first MLL title in 5 years.

Dave Cottle, Bayhawks President, spent 19 years coaching at Loyola College, leading the men’s lacrosse team to 181 wins and 14 consecutive appearances in the NCAA tournament. In 2001 Cottle was named the men’s lacrosse head coach at the University of Maryland where he remained through the 2010 season. During that time, the Terrapins saw 99 victories and 8 consecutive NCAA playoff appearances. A Salisbury University graduate, Cottle started with the Bayhawks in July of 2010 as a consultant.

Jonathan Kemezis of Severna Park, MD, is the Bayhawks’ Vice President of Finance. He graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School in 1996 and earned both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Finance from University of Maryland, College Park in 2001. In 1998, Jonathan was a member of the University of Maryland ACC Championship lacrosse team and national runner-up team. In 2001, he went on to win the Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete Award. Among his many hobbies of movies, music, and lacrosse, Jonathan enjoys spending time with friends and his wife Christie and kids, Connor and Kendall.

Brian Reese joined the Bayhawks in 2011 after spending 6 years with the Outlaws. Reese has a proven track record with the team, coming off of three seasons as the Outlaws’ Head Coach/GM. During that time he guided the team to a 32-17 (.653) record, four consecutive playoff berths and two championship game appearances. In 2009, Reese was named MLL Coach of the Year, after Denver finished with the league’s best record (9-3) and earned an appearance in the MLL Title Game against Toronto. He also served as Denver’s general manager since the team’s inception in 2005. Reese is well experienced in the lacrosse world, as a former player in the NLL from 1998-05 and in the MLL from 2001-05, where he was a four-time MLL All-Star. He is currently in his third year as a volunteer women’s lacrosse coach at the University of Maryland, where his wife, Cathy serves as the team’s head coach. Reese was a defenseman for Maryland from 1995-98, garnering All-American honors as a senior. He and his wife live in Baltimore with their three children.

Lindsey Burns, Director of Operations and Public Relations for the Chesapeake Bayhawks, is originally from Kennett Square, PA. She attended Padua Academy in Wilmington, DE, where she was captain of the varsity swim team, and then went on to graduate in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Washington College. During her time at Washington College, Lindsey was a board member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and studied abroad in the Netherlands, while also actively participating in intramural sports. Currently living in Baltimore, MD, Lindsey enjoys traveling, being active, and spending time with friends.

Andrew Sclama, Ticket Sales Manager for the Chesapeake Bayhawks, graduated from Boston College in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. A Baltimore native, Andrew attended the Gilman School and now resides in Washington, DC. As an avid sports fan, he has been working with the Bayhawks since the beginning of the 2006 Major League Lacrosse Season. Andrew has also served on the US Lacrosse - Potomac Chapter board since 2007. During his free time, Andrew enjoys playing in a local ice hockey league and spending time with family and friends.
