Pro Experience (Chesapeake Bayhawks) Brian was drafted 23rdoverall by the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the 2010 MLL Collegiate Draft, bringing another stellar goaltender to the Hawks roster.
College Brian played college lacrosse at the University of Maryland where he was awarded numerous accolades including All-ACC Academic Team, ACC Freshman of the Year, Preseason All-American, Team Captain, All-ACC, and a finalist for the Lowes Senior CLASS Award. Phipps started in 44 out of 56 games with the Terps and recorded 446 saves with a save percentage of 58.3, a goals against average of 7.56, and an overall record of 31-11.
High School Brian is one of the best goalies to ever come through the Severn School, he was ranked the top goalie prospect in the country by Inside Lacrosse. He was a 2 time Under Armour and US Lacrosse All-American, and winner of the 2006 Wynn Award given to the best goalie in the state of Maryland. Brian has been named a finalist for the C. Markland Kelly Award for the best player in the state of Maryland, and a member of the Toyota High School All-Tewaaraton Team, MSLCA All-State, All-Metro, All-MIAA, and All-Anne Arundel County.
Personal Brian was born on November 26th1987 in Annapolis MD to Wilson and Betty Phipps. He was a member of the National Honors Society, and graduated from the University of Maryland in 2010 with a degree in History, and a cumulative G.P.A of 3.1. |
