Pro Experience (Chesapeake Bayhawks) Dan was drafted 42ndoverall by the Bayhawks in the 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft, and at 6’4 brings a big defensive body with the ability to score to the roster. He has played in 5 games for the Bayhawks, recording 6 ground balls.
College Dan played defense at Georgetown University, recording 4 goals and 6 assists totaling 10 points, and adding 101 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers in 54 games with the Hoyas.
High School Dan captained the lacrosse, football, and basketball teams while at River Hill High School in Howard County Maryland. He recorded 109 goals and 125 assists totaling 234 points, and adding 299 ground balls with the Hawks. He was named Howard County Player of the Year, Under Armour All-American, Top 205 All-Star, Free State All-Star, and set 5 River Hill Records. Dan was a also a 3 year starter at Quarterback and Safety on the Football team.
Personal Dan was born on December 7th, 1988 in Columbia MD to Douglas and Nancy Hostetler. His father played football for Joe Paterno at Penn State, and his uncle Jeff won a Superbowl as a starting quarterback with the New York Giants. Dan is very active in the community, participating in various charities, and he even traveled to the Ukraine to teach 1stgraders English. |
