Westervelt Named Offensive Player of the Week

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Attackman Drew Westervelt led the Bayhawks to an astounding 15-7 victory over the Charlotte Hounds in front of a crowd of 8,192 fans at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The veteran earned Bud Light MVP and MLL Offensive Player of the Week for his stellar performance.

“Drew shot the ball extremely well and scored in a number of different ways for us,” general manager Brian Reese stated. “He has been working hard on his shooting and it was great to see the hard work pay off on Saturday.”

On Saturday the Bayhawks took over sole possession of first place in the MLL and improved their record to 5-1. In the contest, Westervelt tallied a season-high five points with four goals and one assist. The former UMBC stand out holds third place on the roster in points with 17, is tied for second in goals scored with 10, and leads the team in assists with 7.

The Bayhawks return home on Saturday, June 16^th to battle the Hamilton Nationals. Howard W.
