ANNAPOLIS, MD– Rookie attackman Kevin Cooper collected Cascade Rookie of the Week for week 10 after his MLL debut on Saturday in Ohio. The rookie made an impressive professional debut, totaling four points on three goals and an assist to help the Chesapeake Bayhawks pull out a 13-12 victory over the Machine at Selby Stadium.
The 16th overall draft pick stems from the University of Maryland, and wasted no time inserting himself into a seasoned and talented Bayhawks midfield. Chesapeake improves to 6-4 with the win, and will next host the Boston Cannons on Thursday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
“Kevin played both attack and midfield and played a very smart game,” head coach Dave Cottle said of the debut performance. “He has been practicing extremely well and really helped us big time to win the game against the Machine.”
The Bayhawks return home on Thursday, July 18th against the Boston Cannons at 7:30 PM at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at www.thebayhawks.com or over the phone by calling the box office 866-99-HAWKS (42957).
