Catching Up with Ben Hunt

March 18, 2016

The Bayhawks recently caught up with Ben Hunt and checked in on how his off-season has been going. Check out how he's been keeping in shape this winter and how he plan's to help the Bayhawks defend their 2010 MLL title.

Ben Hunt - Midfield #18

Birthday: March 17, 1987 (St. Patrick's Day)

Currently Living: Baltimore, Maryland

High School: Severna Park High School

College: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Full-time job: Sales Representative for Pepsi Bottling Group

CHESAPEAKE BAYHAWKS (CB):       What have you been doing in the off-season to prepare for this summer?

BEN HUNT (BH):    I work out at Merritt Athletic Club and play basketball pickup games at St. Paul's High School. The cutting and movement in basketball is a lot like a lacrosse game.

CB:       What motivates you to stay in the league and give your all every weekend in the summer?

BH:     I love the game of lacrosse. I love playing for my teammates, coaches, and the best organization in the league.

CB:       How did you first get involved in the sport of lacrosse? Who, if anyone, inspired you to start playing?

BH:     I got involved with lacrosse at a very young age. My parents actually have a picture of me wearing a diaper on the beach with a lacrosse stick in my hand. I started playing organized lacrosse at the clinic youth level. My father was my inspiration to start playing. He played high school lacrosse at McDonough High School in Baltimore and also played in college at Farleigh Dickinson University.

CB:       Outside of lacrosse, what are you passionate about?

BH:     I love food. I would not say I am the best cook in the world but I will never turn down a burrito bowl from Chipotle. I also love music. I try to download the hot new songs that come out so I can share them with friends or play them at social gatherings.

CB:       What is your favorite weekend activity?

BH:     My favorite weekend activity during the summer is taking my boat out on the Severn River. It’s a great place to hang out with friends where we can go tubing, wake boarding, or just relax in the sun.
