CHESAPEAKE BAYHAWKS (CB):       What have you been doing in the off-season to prepare for this summer?

CHRIS GARRITY (CG):    I use the fall as my season away from lacrosse.  After so many years of playing it is great to have a season where I don't even think about stepping in the cage.  Once the new year arrives I start getting into shape.  Specifically working on cardio, feet and hand quickness, hand eye drills, and a number of goalie specific exercises I have developed over the years.

CB:     What motivates you to stay in the league and give your all every weekend in the summer?

CG:     Good question?!?  I still have a passion for playing and competing at the highest level.  The older I get the more I realize I will not be able to play at this level forever.  My mentality is, if I still enjoy playing, can play at this level of competition, and can serve as a role model for the countless young players who dream of playing professional lacrosse someday, then I'm going to continue strapping on the cleats alongside my teammates.

CB:     How did you first get involved in the sport of lacrosse? Who, if anyone, inspired you to start playing?

CG:     I started playing when I was really young.  Not really sure why I choose lacrosse or if I had one person inspire me to play.  I played at least 2 sports per season growing up and lacrosse was the one I enjoyed most.  Probably because it was the only sport that didn't require you to play year round after age 8.  That seems to have been thrown out the window these days which is truly a shame.

CB:     Outside of lacrosse, what are you passionate about?

CG:     Family and traveling.

CB:     What is your favorite weekend activity?

CG:     Golfing and boating.
