The Chesapeake Bayhawks have announced that they have traded midfielder Peet Poillon for midfielder Dan Hardy from the Denver Outlaws according to General Manager Spencer Ford.

"Peet Poillon is an amazing talent and will be in the MLL for many years,” Ford remarked. “He shoots the ball as well as any player in the game, and he is a very good feeder as well. We will miss him and wish him luck in Denver. Denver has gained a very good player and a better person.”

Hardy played 10 games in 2010 for Denver, scoring 15 goals. He ranked second on the team with 14 assists, finishing with 30 points. In his first year in the MLL (2009), Hardy was named Cascade Rookie of the Year.

“Dan Hardy is in our opinion, one of the top 3 midfielders in this league,” Ford said.  “He fits the mold of our team with his unselfish play, and he can do many things on the field. He dodges very well, shoots very hard, and has unbelievable vision which makes him almost impossible to stop. We are very excited to see him in a Bayhawks jersey this weekend for our home opener.”

The 2011 season kicks off Saturday, May 14th vs. the Rochester Rattlers. Game day festivities will include the NapTown barBayq, Championship Rally Towels presented by the Greene Turtle to the first 1,500 fans and a post-game fireworks show.
