Chesapeake Bayhawks fans can watch all the team’s games on cable television thanks to a unique partnership with NBC Sports Washington.
For the second straight season, NBC Sports Washington will broadcast all Bayhawks games, both home and away, on a tape delay basis. This exclusive package will give fans multiple opportunities to watch each game on a regular weekly schedule.
“The Bayhawks are proud to be working with NBC Sports Washington again this year in a game coverage, marketing and advertising partnership,” Chesapeake President
Mark Burdett said. “This partnership provides the Bayhawks with unprecedented local coverage and gives our loyal following an opportunity to watch all our games on television.”
NBC Sports Washington will begin the Bayhawks rebroadcasts at 11:00pm ET on the night of each game.
Tonight, Chesapeake plays at the Charlotte Hounds and fans will be able to watch that contest in its entirety via replays on May 4th at 11:30am, May 5th at 12:00pm, and May 7th and 11:30am.
NBC Sports Washington will replay each week’s game again the day after, which in most cases for all HOME GAMES would be Sunday, at 1 p.m. All games will be rebroadcast a third time on Tuesdays with the time to be determined.
“We are thrilled to have three airings of all 14 of our games,” Burdett said. “That is tremendous exposure for the Bayhawks and we are thankful to NBC Sports Washington for recognizing the appeal of Major League Lacrosse and the fact the Chesapeake Bayhawks are very popular in this market.”
In addition to the clearance package, NBC Sports Washington will have full coverage of Bayhawks games, team interactions, coach interviews and special events on all of its digital, mobile and social distribution channels.
The Bayhawks will enjoy a robust tune-in and participation advertising schedule all season long on NBCSW as well. Meanwhile, NBCSW will receive a full marketing and advertising package with the Bayhawks on home game days and through Bayhawks-specific digital, mobile and social distribution channels.
“We are excited to partner with the Chesapeake Bayhawks. There is a large and passionate lacrosse fan base in our region and we look forward to serving them,” said
Damon Phillips, General Manager of NBC Sports Washington. “This is also an opportunity to introduce new fans to one of the fastest growing sports in the country.”
Burdett also announced a partnership between the Bayhawks and
Monumental Sports Network (MSN), the digital network of Capitol One Arena, the Washington Wizards (NBA), Washington Capitals (NHL), Washington Mystics (WNBA), Washington Valor and Baltimore Brigade (Arena Football).
Monumental Sports Network is excited to welcome the Chesapeake Bayhawks into its stable of professional sports teams for the second straight year. Through its streaming network, MSN will inventory any and all Bayhawks related content, including game highlights, team practices, public appearances, press conferences, pre- and post-game programming, coach’s shows, player features and team events.
“It means a lot for the Bayhawks to be part of the Monumental Sports Network family. MSN has widespread reach and this partnership brings tremendous value to our organization,” Burdett said. “We are thrilled that MSN General Manager
Zach Leonsis and his team think so highly of the Chesapeake Bayhawks and Major League Lacrosse to include our professional sport as part of this great network.”
